The Democracy 4 Early Access release date has finally been announced by Positech Games. You'll be able to shape the future of your fictional country starting in October 2020!
Democracy 4 is a continuation of Positech Games' franchise of political strategy games. If you're the sort of person who's a junkie for The West Wing or enjoys strategy games with a lot of choices, then this might just be a title you should grab later this year.
Have a gander at the Democracy 4 Official Alpha Trailer to get a feel for what this game is all about:
It's been seven years since the launch of Democracy 3 and the franchise's fourth installment is going to give players some serious upgrades. Universal Basic Income — a hot topic in this year's presidential primaries in the United States — is going to be one of the many new policies that players can enact, and that's not all.
"By the way, most of the features and policies from all the Democracy 3 expansions are rolled into Democracy 4 base game, so we have all the electioneering features, and policies from extremism (plus some new policies that go further, like border walls), social engineering and clones & drones," Positech Games explained in a Steam Community announcement.
This game was originally announced for a 2019 launch, but it ultimately had to be delayed until 2020. The franchise previously had some trouble with Facebook misidentifying advertisements for the game as political ads, leading to their removal.
Democracy 4 will also feature an entirely-revamped user interface that is slicker and cleaner than its predecessors. It has never been easier to pick your policies and view critical stats, but it's sure to be a challenge to lead your country in the right direction.
When is the Democracy 4 Early Access Release Date?
The Democracy 4 Early Access release date is October 6, 2020. No price has been announced.
Democracy 4 is expected to be in Steam Early Access for the rest of 2020 and for "the start of 2021." Just how long it takes for the full release will largely depend on the feedback from the Steam community and how much Positech Games believes it should add to this title.
Strategy games are always a little niche, but Positech Games does some pretty interesting things with the genre. If you're looking for a new challenge to sink your teeth into, you can add Democracy 4 to your wishlist on Steam.
