Depp Silver has announced on Twitter that Koch Media will be making an announcement as part of the Summer Games Fest on June 11. To temper expectations, they've also announced that Dead Island, Saints Row, Metro or TimeSplitters franchises won't be part of the announcement.

For those who don't know, the Summer Games Fest will be hosted by Geoff Keighley and will have a showcase event, "followed by updates from the industry's leading publishers." It initially starts on June 10, where there will be a world premiere showcase along with a performance from Weezer, which sounds more like a punishment than a reward. The Koch Primetime event will take place the day after, with the event called "We Know Something You Don't Know", which... is true, I guess.

While it's not awesome that we won't be getting updates on these franchises, Gamescom isn't too far away and it could very well be the case that the European developer and publisher are waiting until then to announced new games in some of those franchises. We'll have to see.

If you would like to check out the announcement, be sure to go here on June 11. The event will start at 9 PM CEST/12 PM PDT. Apparently they "can't wait to see everyone's reaction to the news!" so they at least think it's going to be a fairly big deal. Let's hope so.

What do you think of this announcement? Were you hoping for more news on Dead Island, Saints Row, Metro or TimeSplitters? If so, which franchise in particular are you most excited about? Let us know in the comments!
