We now have a concrete Deceive Inc release date, and the slippery multiplayer game of subterfuge and social deception is closer than you'd think, as you'd expect from a skilled spy. Deceive Inc is coming to current-gen consoles and PC on March 21st, so mark your calendar (but be sure to do it in code).

Over on the PlayStation Blog, Sony reveals the Deceive Inc release date on PS5, which is also when the game will release globally on other platforms. The post also provides a rundown of the game's core tenets, as well as brief explanations of each selectable agent and their skills.

If you're unfamiliar with Deceive Inc, it's a 12-player game you can either play solo or in teams of 3 players. Agents spawn undercover in a variety of maps and must work to discover which NPCs are other players in disguise. You'll need to use your skills as a spy, as well as a range of gadgets (which can be upgraded), to help you in this task.

As well as revealing the release date, the PlayStation Blog post also confirms that an open beta will be available for Deceive Inc starting from March 10th. You'll be able to play the game on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5, and the beta will support full crossplay, so you can team up with your friends no matter where you're playing. Unlike previous closed tests, this one will be open to everyone, too.

The agents on offer in Deceive Inc look pretty exciting, too. From "adaptable recruit" Rupert Reid, who comes with a silenced pistol, through to gadgeteer and "tactical slingshot" wielder Yu-Mi Kwon, there should be an agent for you no matter what your playstyle might be. If you've ever wished that Team Fortress 2's Spy could get his very own game, Deceive Inc might come pretty close to that fantasy.

Deceive Inc launches on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, as well as PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, on March 21st.
