The Dead Space remake release date has been revealed -- you'll be able to play the remastered version of the classic survival horror game in early 2023.
Last summer, the existence of a Dead Space remake was confirmed at EA Play Live 2021. The release date window was confirmed earlier this year, but Motive Studios had yet to settle on a specific release date. That all changed today -- an official launch date was announced during a developer livestream.
The Dead Space remake developers hosted a livestream earlier today which went into excruciating detail about how they're staying true to the original vision of the game. This can be especially challenging considering that this is a remake and not a remaster; much of this content is being rebuilt from scratch.
The developer livestream (which you can watch above) showed off concept art, lighting effects, and more. It also showed off a bit of real-time gameplay from a development build. Those weren't the only fun surprises, though -- we finally know when we'll be able to play this revival of a once-dead franchise.
When is the Dead Space Remake Release Date?
The Dead Space remake release date is January 27, 2023. The game will simultaneously launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
"Developing this remake has been a lot of fun for us at Motive, as we’re true fans of the franchise and want to treat it with the respect it deserves," Dead Space Senior Producer Phillippe Ducharme said in a press release. "It’s been equally exciting to see players' reactions as we’re taking them on this development journey with us. We’re making great progress on our road to hitting Alpha and we’re happy to announce that the game will be launching in January next year. We can’t wait for players, both old and new, to see how we've elevated the original experience in the remake to be just as impactful for this generation."
