It's the Dead By Daylight 5-year anniversary and the fine folks at Behaviour Interactive have something special in store: the Dead by Daylight Resident Evil Chapter has been revealed.
Dead by Daylight is a game that's all about two very different opposing sides duking it out on a map. On one team is a group of four survivors trying to escape an area. On the other side, however, is a superpowered killer that wants to sacrifice all of them to a dark creature. It's an asymmetric battle of wits and speed, and you really don't want the monster to win.
The game has just celebrated its five-year anniversary and it's quite keen on continuing its tradition of crossovers with other horror franchises, and this time, the devs are showing off something that's picked up a bit of popularity lately — the Dead By Daylight Resident Evil Chapter has been revealed.
What is the Dead By Daylight Resident Evil Chapter?
The Dead by Daylight Resident Evil Chapter will have two new survivors, one new killer, and a brand-new map set in Racoon City as revealed in the 5th Anniversary Broadcast stream. If you're a fan of Resident Evil, you'll definitely not want to miss out on this one.
Let's start with the survivors — yes that's right, plural. Behaviour Interactive had a difficult time picking just one character from such a long-running franchise, so the absolute mad lads went with two: Leon S. Kennedy and Jill Valentine will be the survivors for this chapter. These new characters are bringing unique powers to the table, too, and Leon's is pretty special — he'll be able to spawn a flashbang as a usable item within the actual map.
Speaking of maps, let's talk about the new level! The developers have painstakingly recreated the Raccoon City Police Department station from Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. They've done
Finally, we have the killer. Nemesis will chase down players with a rather interesting ability to infect survivors with a tentacle. Each successive hit will make the infection worse, increasing the power of Nemesis and making survivors more vulnerable to damage; this infection can be stopped with a very limited number of vaccines placed around the map.
That's pretty powerful on its own, but that's not all that's coming to the Dead by Daylight Resident Evil Chapter — Nemesis will also have a number of zombies roaming around the map. These zombies can bite players and infect them much in the same way as Nemesis' tentacle attack.
