Dead By Daylight Getting New Killer and Survivor

Published: November 20, 2019 1:30 PM

If you've been waiting for another killer for Dead by Daylight, then good news. The next killer has been announced for the game, and you'll get a chance to step into the role of The Oni soon.

This new killer is an original character named The Oni, who appears to be based on various Japanese myths. He has abilities to help control the map, such as being able to see all vaulting points and pallets survivors can use. Additionally, he can gain abilities that let him cause status effects like bleeding to other survivors when he manages to put a survivor on a hook. His skills include gathering power so he can perform long dashes across the map, and a special strike that instantly kills any survivor it hits.

There's at least a new survivor to help give you an edge. Yui Kimura is a survivor with a bit of a lucky streak. Her special abilities allow her to not leave trails of blood after she is injured. She can also reset pallets that have already been used, and increase her speed if she's near another downed or injured survivor. In addition to the new survivor and killer, there's a new map named Sanctum of Wrath.

The Oni marks the 18th killer to make its way to Dead by Daylight, while Yui is the 20th survivor. The most recent DLC pack added in a killer and two survivors based on popular Netflix TV show Stranger Things, with other IPs like Saw, Left 4 Dead, Scream, and more.

Dead by Daylight is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

How do you feel about this new killer? Were you hoping for another character from a horror movie? Glad to see another original killer instead of a movie character? Let us know in the comments below!
