Madruga Works, developer and publisher of the space colony game Planetbase (Our Review), first announced the spiritual successor to that title, Dawn of Man (Our Review and our Guide), in May last year. Released on March 1st this year, Dawn of Man received a mostly positive reception on Steam and GOG. Today they have just released a new Dawn of Man update, version 1.1.0, called the Spiritual Update, which mainly adds content focused on spiritual and prestige structures for the Bronze and Iron Ages.
These structures include the Cairn, which is the "ultimate megalithic structure, made of megaliths and a ton of rocks, it's the structure that provides the highest amount of prestige and morale recovery." A full-size image of the structure can be seen here. There's also the Banner, an "Iron Age structure to make your settlement look cooler and stronger," coming in three variants seen here, here, and here. Finally, there's the Statue, a "Bronze Age prestige structure, with a few variants to make your settlement more interesting and help recover morale," also available in three variants seen here, here, and here. Apart from these structures, the update includes a new tool, the Fish Trap, which is the most advanced fishing tool in the game, with a four-star rating. Here is what it looks like in the game.
In order to build these structures and create this new tool, you'll require the research of the new techs Netting, Sculpting and Complex Megalithism. The update includes three new music tracks, as well as some quality-of-life tweaks such as an improved milestone UI and improved milestone cameras. There are also new milestones for the Continental Dawn scenario. Along with all these new updates there are new achievements which will unlock as you explore the new features.
