Developer Shiro Games, known for their work on Evoland and Northgard, revealed their latest title is finally coming to Steam's Early Access program next week. The top-down co-op action title, Darksburg, is set to become available starting from the 12th of February. Back in December, the title went into closed beta, with thousands of players taking part to help the development team shape the experience based on their feedback. Shiro Games gauged the beta's performance as a tremendous success, and introduced a couple of updates since then, including the new Last Stand game mode.
Darksburg adopts a fast-paced gameplay style to always keep players on the edge of their seat. The players are put up against waves of zombie hordes, and your mission as four-man team is to withstand the undead army to protect the city. You are free to choose whose side are you on, whether you want to protect the people of Darksburg as the Survivors or wreck havoc and let your evil rule the world. Each one of these sides features unique characters with distinguishable design, abilities , and skills to get past objectives. Certain combination of characters and attacks can cause devastating effects, and take advantage of the world around you.
The Early Access launch of Darksburg contains:
- Four playable hot-blooded Survivors and four playable zombie Revenants.
- Five maps covering all the blood-soaked parts of the once peaceful, medieval town of Darksburg divided across three distinct environments: the ruined Harbour, the Marketplace, and the Faubourg district.
- All the game modes, including the coop against AI, as well as the PvP mode which sees Revenants stopping the Survivors escaping town and the infamous Last Stand mode.
- A wide range of abilities, combos, and perks are available to each character, allowing players to focus on DPS or build the ultimate tank
