Today, publisher Wind River Games along with developer Random Potion and rights holder Ulissess Spiele have announced that Germany's favorite tabletop role-playing game world, The Dark Eye, will be getting a new adaptation with The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes this summer.

Players will be put in the fantasy world of Adventuria, where they can raid dungeons together with up to three other friends online, via couch-coop, or alone with hired virtual friends if you're like me and have no friends that are as cool as you.

There will be 12 different professions, including Assassin, Mercenary, Blessed one of Rondra, Knight, or Black Magician. Four different species will be included, such as elves, half-elves, dwarves, or humans, who can all be customized to however the player sees fit. There will also be up to eight individual storylines, with the game utilizing the 5th edition rules of The Dark Eye.

“With over 35 years of tabletop evolution to reference, The Dark EyeBook of Heroes is the perfect setting for fans of old-school RPGs, and the team at Random Potion has done an incredible job of bringing it to life on the PC.” Based in the popular The Dark Eye universe, Book of Heroes sends players on an exciting journey through the lands of Aventuria to hack, slash, sneak, steal, and connive their way through an expansive role-playing experience. The game features an immersive and robust character creation system that will allow players to combine an enormous variety of traits and skills to ensure a true tabletop-inspired experience. Multiple fantasy racial backgrounds, professions, and skills help layers create incredibly well-rounded adventurers!
