Dark Cloud 2

This could be the discovery or announcement many of you have been waiting for, as seeing classic games come to newer consoles is always a pleasure. With games like Kingdom Hearts, Gears of War, and more coming to newer consoles over time, it's great to continue to see a stream of re-releases, and Sony has been at the forefront of re-releasing older titles. Findings of recent ratings by Pan European Game Information (PEGI) have been found to show that Dark Cloud 2, Twisted Metal: Black, and Ape Escape 2 have been rated for the PS4 in Europe.

There's always the chance that it could be a mistake, but with the Tokyo Game Show this week, it's worth holding out hope of an announcement at the show. The games are currently listed on PEGI's homepage, but not listed under the search function of the webpage. It's also worth noting that Dark Cloud 2 is known as Dark Chronicle in Europe.

Dark Chronicle = Dark Cloud 2

Many Dark Cloud fans may remember that roughly a year ago, a forum post on Gamespot indicated that Dark Cloud 3 was to be released on PS4, pending announcement at E3 2015. While we've had no news since that time, it's possible that the release of Dark Cloud 2 on PS4 may be a precursor to an annoucement about Dark Cloud 3 on PS4. Twisted Metal: Black was already released as a PS2 Classic on PS3, which also leaves open the possibility for more PS2 titles to follow these 3, especially as Sony continues their push to release more classic titles.

The Tokyo Game Show is in less than 3 days, and we're sure to see some great announcements from a wide range of developers. With the findings on the PEGI homepage, there's a chance we'll see the annoucement of these Playstation Classics when things kick off. While there has been no mention of a release in North America, the ratings are unchanged from when they originally released, meaning that we'll likely see the same ratings in North America as well. Whether they release in Europe or NA first is to be seen, but we'll know much more once an announcement is made!

Georgina Young will be on site at Tokyo Game Show this year to provide coverage of the event for TechRaptor, so stay tuned!

Personally, I'm incredibly excited to play Dark Cloud 2 and Ape Escape 2 on PS4.  I'm sure most people will agree with me that Playstation Classics being upgraded to the newest console is a good thing, but what do you think? Are you excited to see these 3 titles coming to the PS4?
