Ironmace, the developer behind the embattled game Dark and Darker, has taken to its Discord Server today to officially announce a delay of the early access.
While the announcement will likely be unsurprising to those who have followed the developer's legal troubles, we get a message directly from Terence Seung-ha which reads as follows.
"We truly hate not being able to communicate as freely as we usually do, however due to the sensitive nature of our current situation, we can’t divulge too much information right now. I know this isn’t the announcement everyone wanted to hear but we needed to let our fans know that the Early Access release has been delayed a bit. Just know that we are working on a ton of things to ensure the game gets out to you as soon as possible. We ask everyone to hold the line just a little longer. Thanks!"
The dark fantasy PvPvE FPS game for PC has recently been removed from Steam due to a DMCA takedown and a legal dispute with Korean publisher Nexon. A few weeks ago, it has been tested by the fans via a new alpha, which was distributed via Torrent to get around the delisting.
Over the past few weeks, Ironmace has shared a large batch of documents about the development of Dark and Darker to bolster its case against Nexon. At the moment, information on the case remains limited and it's extremely challenging to predict its outcome. We'll have to wait and see whether this highly-anticipated title will ever see the light.
