The much-awaited Cyberpunk 2077 expansion will be arriving sometime in 2023 according to the latest financial report from CD Projekt Red.
Cyberpunk 2077 has had a long and troubled development. While there have been quite a few missteps along the way, CD Projekt Red CEO Adam Kiciński believes that it will ultimately be seen as "a very good game" in the future. We'll soon see if they can deliver on those promises: the Cyberpunk 2077 expansion is set to arrive next year.
What We Know About the Cyberpunk 2077 Expansion
Sadly, there's not much that we know about the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion aside from a choice quote from CD Projekt Red CFO Piotr Nielubowicz; the expansion is set to arrive next year and will feature a new storyline.
"For everyone who has already walked the streets of Night City, we're working on further DLCs as well as on a major expansion featuring a new storyline," Nielubowicz said in a video financial report.
Aside from the expansion news, this latest financial report highlighted some of the wins that CD Projekt Red had over the year with Cyberpunk 2077. Nearly 10 major updates were released, the game made its way onto PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and it has sold a total of 18 million copies to date.
When is the Cyberpunk 2077 Expansion Release Date?
The Cyberpunk 2077 expansion release date will be sometime in 2023; a more specific release date has not yet been announced, nor has any pricing.
CDPR's upcoming expansion to Night City isn't the only major chunk of content we're waiting on; the multiplayer component of the game is shrouded in mystery and may take even longer to arrive than the expansion. For now, there's plenty to explore in Night City; you can buy Cyberpunk 2077 for PC and consoles starting at $59.99 or your regional equivalent.
