Get your first glimpse into the sci-fi RPG epic
CD Projekt RED announced the release date for their highly anticipated first-person RPG Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 2019 with a riveting companion character played by Keanu Reeves. Our own Editor-in-Chief has already published his impressions of the new hands-off 50-minute demo. For those of us who were not able to attend E3 2019, all we can do is wait until the studio decides to release the demo, as they did last year. And we probably won't have to wait that long, as Global Community Lead of CD Projekt RED Marcin Momot has already mentioned on Twitter that it will happen exactly during PAX West, which means some time between August 30 and September 3.

This year's E3 gameplay demo was even more detailed than last year's, according to several accounts. It showed a lot of character customization options and over 20 perks at least. While last year's demo did show the Kiroshi Optics implant being installed in V, this year's demo suggests that there will be several more, allowing for a lot of different character builds both for combat and pacifism playthroughs. As we reported, you can complete Cyberpunk 2077 without ever killing anyone, just as you can do in the Deus Ex games (bosses not included, though).
There has also been a fair share of controversy following the latest demo, with accusations of transphobia and racism, which have already been addressed by CD Projekt RED and by the creator of Cyberpunk 2020, Mike Pondsmith, who commented on the issues in the Cyberpunk subreddit: "Who the (bleep) do YOU think you are to tell ME whether or not MY creation was done right or not?"
Cyberpunk 2077 will release on April 16, 2020, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It will tie in with Cyberpunk Red, a new edition of the tabletop game, as announced in R. Talsorian's official website.
