Crytek’s eary-access multiplayer title Hunt: Showdown will be coming to Xbox Game Preview this spring. The game has been on Steam early-access for just over a year.

Xbox Game Preview is essentially Microsoft’s version of early-access. Players may purchase the work-in-progress title and then provide feedback to the developer's as they wish. Players then continue to have access to every update up to and including the final version.

Hunt, set in a grim wild west, is a first-person, match-based game in which players hunt monsters for bounty. You and your partner are part of a secret monster-killing society. According to the game’s website, your prey is anything but ordinary. The dark creatures you seek would not only eat your flesh but also consume your soul. Not pretty. Apparently, it’s also likely you will make mistakes and fail often. If so, you will lose all your gear and bounty, on top of the soul and flesh thing. You’ll be competing against other hunters, so there will be plenty of PvP in addition to PvE.

Crytek had previously developed the popular Crysis series and had started out with the original Far Cry. Other titles of theirs include VR game The Climb. They use their own CryEngine.
