Cris Tales has received a new content update that includes a new character, Adri The Inventor, and has reduced loading times by 30% for all Nintendo Switch owners. There's also a new mechanical-themed dungeon, a new and improved Coliseum, and general updates.
Cris Tales was originally released back in July 2021, where it received a decent score. Since then, there's been a patch in August and a patch this week, which is also accompanied by a sale that will launch next week.
All things considered, this is a pretty substantial free update. Before we dive into the meat and potatoes of the patch, let's check out the new content trailer first:
What's in the Cris Tales update?
The star of the update is Adri The Inventor, which will be the seventh playable character that will join your party. Adri is a mechanic that players will first meet in St. Clarity and will play a significant part in the late game story. In combat, she will act as a summoner and will build mines and turrets that can be enhanced by Crisbell's time powers.
As well as a new character, there's also a new dungeon that comes with the update that will include new enemy encounters and puzzle-solving mechanics. If that's not for you, there's also the new and improved Coliseum, which will give players a chance to battle waves of enemies for new loot, rewards, currency, and chests. There are new enemies and an original boss added to this version of the Coliseum. In order to try it out, you'll have to speak to the traveling merchant.
Once you complete this newly added content, you'll receive a new cutscene and new ending for the game. If you want to experience this new content and you've already completed the game, you can use your most recent save to play through the new content.
If this sounds great to you, be sure to wait for the sale that will occur on December 23. Cris Tales will be 35% off on Xbox, 50% off on Nintendo Switch (in North America), and 50% off on Steam.
