The Crew is Ubisoft's Next Free Ubi30 Game

After giving away Prince of Persia, the very first Splinter Cell and the rather excellent Rayman Origins, Ubisoft have announced that the third game in the 30 Year Anniversary of the French game developer and publisher will be Ivory Towers' arcade racing MMO The Crew!

The Crew is an important step for Ubisoft as it is the first fully connected open world we ever created. Recreating the full US territory form East Coast to West Coast, this game offers endless hours of driving across the most iconic American spots.

Just like the games that became free for this celebratory event before, you will only have a limited time to make use of this offer. Note that this free download is for The Crew only, and doesn't include any of the DLC including the latest Wild Run expansion pack. The timing of this offer probably has something to do with the recently announced second expansion pack for The Crew called Calling All Units which is scheduled to release on November 29. Do note that this game requires an always online connection.

The offer is not available yet, and will unlock on September 14th. If you're quick you can still download Rayman Origins (which is a seriously great platformer) for free via the Ubisoft Club website. The UBI30 offers are all exclusive to the PC platform and to uPlay.

The Crew originally came out in 2014 and has since managed to attract over 9 million players.

Quick Take

While The Crew isn't a fantastic game by any stretch of the imagination, its arcade mechanics are more than enough to enjoy the positively huge open-world covering the entirety of the USA landmass and has a ton of  content for you to dive into. And now you'll be able to get it for absolutely no money whatsoever, it becomes a very easy game to recommend to players who've not tried the game out for themselves yet.

I've been playing games since I was just barely able to walk so I might as well write about them.
