From the creators of Blazing Chrome comes a new hack-and-slash action game titled Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider, set to release on January 12, 2023 on PC.
Developers at JoyMasher and publishers The Arcade Crew have announced the release of their action platformer. With the announcement came a short release trailer, showcasing fast-paced retro hacking and slashing action. The almost 16-bit-looking graphics throw us back to a better time when games were simple yet effective and just boatloads of fun.
There are scenes of shooting, riding a motorcycle down a blazing roadway directly into enemies, and scenes showing off several intense attacks and abilities to choose from. The motorcycle scene itself makes the game look appealing, as it can shoot at enemies that appear to be flying in mid-air. The rest of the trailer shows hectic and chaotic encounters that bring back memories of being drenched in sweat while trying to make it to the next boss or save point.
So what is the game about? Humanity has ultimately damned itself without realizing it, as they have awakened a cyber ninja warrior, Moonrider, in an attempt to build up an army of super soldiers. Now usually, this wouldn't be an issue, as Moonrider is not supposed to wreak havoc, and is meant to protect and serve its creators. But as with most AI, it decided it wasn't going to be controlled any longer, and began rebelling against its creators and anyone who stood in its path.
This is where you come in; Destroy your creators and seek vengeance against the super soldiers and authoritarians. The Moonrider can be upgraded using Modifier chips scattered throughout the levels, but beware, they are heavily protected. Using these chips will allow you to unlock new abilities and skills to eradicate the threat you see in front of you.
Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider will release on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation consoles, and Amazon Luna in certain countries on January 12, 2023.
