Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Experiencing Online Issues

The frenzied kart racer Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is out today, and as both a single-player and multiplayer game, it was bound to have a couple of issues upon release. The critical reception so far seems pretty decent, but unfortunately, the remake of Naughty Dog's classic is experiencing some online issues that might taint the release for some players. On social media, many players are sharing complaints and discussing the problems encountered in CTR's online multiplayer component. A demonstration of these issues has been illustrated with a video by Twitter user Chris Hampton, showing how players seem to be getting disconnected and disappearing from the track.

Elsewhere, there have also been complaints on Reddit, where users claim the online mode is pretty much "broken," with issues in synchronization of player models in the minimap, and other players leaving the race halfway through, so that the remaining player gets first place, though that takes it away from a properly earned victory lap. Beenox, the developer of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled has already issued a statement on Twitter, saying that an immediate fix to address the online multiplayer experience is in the works, so players will have to be a bit patient.

A messy online launch is becoming almost par for the course with a lot of AAA games, with the latest cases of Anthem and Fallout 76 disputing for the crown of worst online experience, but the issues with Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled seem mild compared to those games, and a fix should take care of the worst of it. Meanwhile, why not focus on the single-player adventure mode, which, as we reported, includes robust customization options. You can also try the Classic mode, just in case you'd rather experience the full nostalgia thrill of the original Crash Team Racing, except with much more powerful graphics.

Are you having similar issues with the online multiplayer of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled? What's the experience like so far? Let us know in the comments below!
