The PlayStation Blog has just revealed 14 minutes of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time gameplay, featuring the redesigned Tawna and some pre-order demo information.
The PlayStation blog notes that Tawna only appeared in the first game of the Crash trilogy as Crash's girlfriend, and only as the damsel-in-distress that didn't really reveal much about her as a character. Over 20 years and two sequels later, the third sequel will go into depth about a different Tawna where she is the hero of her own dimension. To do this, they had to answer some basic questions such as how she's different from the other Tawna, what happened to make her into a hero, what does she sound like, and how does she respond to different situations.
Besides Tawna, more information was revealed ahead of Crash Bandicoot 4's October 2 release date, such as a demo that will be available for those who have (or are going to) pre-order the game before launch:
“Fans are so excited to get their hands on Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, the first original Crash Bandicoot title in more than a decade,” said Paul Yan, Co-Studio Head at Toys For Bob. “Even though we’re still a number of weeks out from the official launch, we can’t wait for fans to experience the challenge, fun and love we’ve poured into this game, so we’re really happy to offer them early access to part of the game through a special demo.”
The demo will include two levels that will let players play as Crash or Neo Cortex, and players will be able to use new Quantum Masks. The Kapuna-Wa can control time, and the Lani-Loli can phased objects in and out of existence which sounds pretty dangerous and cool.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time will launch for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on October 2, 2020 for $59.99.
