Alientrap and Whitethorn Digital have announced that the crafting adventure game Wytchwood is coming to PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch later this year.

As its name implies, Wytchwood puts you in the shoes of an old witch who lives in the forest. Strange as she may be, there are even weirder denizens of the woods that you'll meet throughout your journey. Check out the new trailer for the game that just dropped today!

Featuring a stylish storybook art style, this game is more than it might seem at first glance. Naturally, the witch of the woods will have to travel the countryside to collect magical and mundane ingredients alike for brewing potions. That's just the start of what's coming in this game, though — you'll also have a fair amount of puzzles to solve as you explore the land.

You won't be alone, either. There are all sorts of strange inhabitants in the surrounding lands. You'll be able to "pass judgment" on them, although the game doesn't quite specify how that's going to work out. Presumably, you'll have to use your wit and wizardry to help people solve their problems — or to teach them a lesson.

When is the Wytchwood Release Date?

The Wytchwood release date will be sometime in Fall 2021 according to a news post on the game's Steam Community page; unfortunately, the publisher hasn't shared a more specific release date just yet. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

Mind, this wasn't the only cool new indie game revealed today. Aside from highlighting Wytchwood on the PlayStation Blog, Sony also revealed a new space shooter named Sol Cresta from Platinum Games and a sequel to Oxenfree, among other titles.

For now, you can learn a bit more about this upcoming game by heading on over to its official website. You can also add Wytchwood to your wishlist on Steam.
