Corroded, a free-for-all multiplayer arena brawler by Encircle Games, is now available on Steam Early Access according to an announcement post made on the game's Steam Community page.

Corroded pits up to six players against one another in an arena that has a tendency to change shape over the course of the game. Players can choose characters from one of multiple classes, each with their own unique strengths and weaknesses. Players try to eliminate their opponents either through direct damage or knocking them into environmental hazards such as lava.

Encircle Games cites the Warcraft 3 "Warlocks" mod as a source of inspiration for this game, and indeed it looks like it shares similar gameplay qualities to that mod. (Warlocks has since gotten a  modern re-creation for Dota 2 by the original creators.) This wouldn't be the first time that a Warcraft 3 mod leads to the creation of an unrelated standalone game; after all, the Defense of the Ancients mod eventually lead to the creation of Heroes of Newerth, League of Legends, Dota 2, and a myriad of other games that eventually comprised the MOBA genre.

Players will have two servers to choose from: Europe and US West. More servers are planned to open as the game's community grows. If you'd like to get a better idea of the gameplay, you can check out the VODs of our Corroded gameplay during our Ablegamers 2016 stream at the end of last year. (Bear in mind that we played an earlier version of the game than what is being released today.) In the meantime, you can grab the Early Bird Edition of Corroded for the launch discount price of $11.69 or your regional equivalent, 10% off of its expected $12.99 asking price. Early adopters will have all of the current in-game robots unlocked as well as all future robots.
