Coromon, a monster-taming old-school indie RPG, finally has a release date. It will come out on March 31, 2022, for PC and the Nintendo Switch, with releases also coming to iOS, tvOS, and Android platforms.
As you might expect from the name, it's one of those not-quite-a-Pokemon-knockoff titles that have been increasingly made as Nintendo and Game Freak are seemingly content to leave their 2D roots behind. Indie developers have been picking up the slack in that regard, with titles such as Disc Creatures doing a pretty good job of it.

What is Coromon?
It's another indie pixel-art take on old-school Pokemon, which isn't a bad thing. There are 120 Coromon to collect, a story to experience, bosses to face, and puzzles to melt your brain, which is part of the fun. It looks and sounds like a Pokemon game straight from the early-2000's, which if going by the size of the Pokemon rom hacking community that's what a lot of people want.
Coromon also offers online battles, a soundtrack with over 50 tracks, multiple save slots and autosave functionality, difficulty and randomizer modes, along with a bunch of other options to customize your overall experience. The game will cost players between $1.99 and $3.99 for mobile and $14.99 on desktop, so if you're interested be sure to check it out once it releases in March.
