A new game from The Tenants developer Ancient Forge Studio has been announced. The Constructors lets you take control of a construction company and build your very own neighborhoods, restoring the city of Wondersville to its former majesty.
What is The Constructors?
Quite a few exotic city-builders have been announced recently. Would you like to build a city underwater, for example, or on the back of a giant turtle? If you prefer something more grounded, then The Tenants developer Ancient Forge Studio's new game has you covered. The Constructors is an estate-building simulator that gives you control over a construction company and asks you to design and build your own estates. You'll rebuild the city of Wondersville neighborhood by neighborhood, battling other investors along the way. You can check out the announcement trailer for The Constructors right here.
How will gameplay work in The Constructors?
As you might expect from a city-builder, The Constructors will let you oversee lots of different aspects of your business. Ancient Forge says you'll be able to decide on everything from the materials your buildings use all the way down to "the type of light bulbs used in the hallways". You'll have plenty of freedom over how exactly you design your neighborhoods, too; will you add a rooftop basketball court to your building, for example, or decide to implement a park area instead? As you build, you'll run into unexpected complications, like protesters interrupting your construction, and you'll have to deal with those, too. No word yet on whether monstrous horrors from the forests beyond will attack your developments at night, though.
We don't yet have a release date for The Constructors, unfortunately. Ancient Forge simply says the game is coming "soon", so it might be a while before you can get your hands on this one. In the meantime, though, you can add it to your Steam wishlist. If this looks like your kind of game, then you may also want to check out Ancient Forge's previous game The Tenants, which tasks you with managing a property empire as a landlord. We'll bring you more on The Constructors as soon as we get it.
