Spellforce 3

Spellforce 3 Reforced has been delayed more than once for consoles, and now it has been delayed again for what will hopefully be the final time. It was delayed once again to give it "a little bit more time", which is understandable because hey, translating Spellforce 3's unique control scheme to consoles has probably been a nightmare. THQ Nordic wants to get the game in the best possible shape, and will apparently continue developing right up until the game's release date, so if I were you I'd wait a few days and see how the game turns out before picking it up on your preferred console.

SpellForce III Reforced Console Edition will release on June 7, 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. As for the price, it will run you $39.99/€39.99/£34.99. The two expansions, Soul Harvest and Fallen God, will be an additional $19.99/€19.99 each. If you're a PC player, Spellforced 3 Reforced is on sale and can be picked up for $9.99 (-75% off) on Steam.

Quick Take

I really enjoyed my playthrough of Spellforce 3 back in 2017, and from what I can tell it's only gotten better since then. It's also received two expansions which have both been well received. Basically, if you're looking for a thoroughly unique RTS title you can't really go wrong with Spellforce 3. It's multiplayer might not be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but it's campaigns might be breath of fresh air for the jaded RTS player.

What do you think of Spellforce 3? Are you a fan of its combined RPG and RTS genres? What's your favorite RTS title and when's the last time you played it? Let us know in the comments!
