The first major expansion for Funcom's survival game Conan Exiles has been announced. Conan Exiles: Isle of Siptah brings an entirely new map, new dungeons, new monsters, and more to the game. What's more, it's launching in Early Access on PC next week.
What's coming in Conan Exiles: Isle of Siptah?
Funcom says Isle of Siptah will offer "an even playing field for new and old players alike". You'll create an entirely new character on the island of Siptah and explore new dungeons called "vaults", as well as combating magical creatures and NPCs and exploring "an ominous dark tower" surrounded by a storm. Funcom says Isle of Siptah will allow players to compete for opportunities, creating conflict between them as they vie for resources and the chance to slay monsters. You can check out the trailer for Conan Exiles: Isle of Siptah below:
The new expansion comes complete with two new building sets: a flotsam-based set allowing the construction of pirate-themed towns, and a stormglass set meant for majestic castles. If you get Isle of Siptah in Early Access, you'll get a limited edition rhino mount skin too. Funcom says you'll be able to use this Siptah content in the base game as well, as long as you have the expansion installed.
Checking out Conan Exiles for free this weekend
If you're still on the fence about Conan Exiles, Funcom is offering the chance to play the game for free on Steam this weekend. Choosing to buy it will net you a rather nifty 65% discount on the base game, so now's the perfect time to get into Conan Exiles if you haven't already. The free Conan Exiles Steam weekend starts later today and ends on September 14th.
Conan Exiles: Isle of Siptah launches in Early Access for PC on September 15th. A full release for the expansion will follow on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2021. Rather interestingly, the Funcom press release merely lists "PlayStation" and "Xbox"; this ambiguous wording could well point towards a next-generation release for Conan Exiles. We'll bring you more on this as we get it.
