Company of Heroes 3 Console Edition

Today Sega and Relic Entertainment announced that Company of Heroes 3 is going to make the jump to consoles.

The RTS game, which was previously launched exclusively for PC, will release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on May 30. It'll be available both digitally and physically on both consoles with pre-orders starting on April 25.

This is the first time that the franchise launches on consoles, and it'll be interesting to see if players on PlayStation and Xbox will embrace its World War II gameplay. They can expect "a custom UI, full controller support, and special features that allow them to play at their own pace." The user interface has been specifically adapted to be controlled with a gamepad.

Speaking of playing at your own pace, the game's "full tactical pause" lets you freeze gameplay while issuing orders to your units.

On top of that, the full suite of features included in the PC version will be on the menu, including the dynamic campaign in Italy and the more scripted and narrative-driven campaign in North Africa. Of course, online multiplayer and co-op versus the AI will also be available.

Four playable factions are included in the game, the US, the UK, the German Wehrmacht, and the German Afrikakorps. If you're wondering why a game set in Italy doesn't have a dedicated Italian faction... you're certainly not alone.
