During today's Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase, Balan Wonderworld got a release date. It'll launch for PC and consoles in March next year. It's also getting a 2-player co-op mode.
What exactly is Balan Wonderworld?
Balan Wonderworld is a magical 3D platformer featuring over 80 costumes to transform into across 12 stages. You'll need to use all of the costumes if you want to make your way through the game's dreamlike landscapes. During the Nintendo presentation, we got to take a look at some new Balan Wonderworld gameplay, including glimpses at the game's ocean and wind-based stages.

Two new costumes were shown off during the Balan Wonderworld presentation. The Soaring Sheep allows players to drift on wind currents and float through the air. Conversely, the Pumpkin Puncher is a much more combat-focused costume that allows you not only to take down your enemies with greater ease, but also to destroy giant blocks to help you explore the stages. Each costume's ability will help you find new secrets in the game's levels.
What about the co-op mode?
Balan Wonderworld will also include a fully-featured co-op mode. It looks like the second player will be able to tie themselves to the first player in some way as well as being able to move around the game's world. Balan Wonderworld will support Joy-Con play, so you'll simply be able to hand a controller to another player and have them join in your game without needing to purchase a second controller.
You'll be able to get your hands on Balan Wonderworld when it launches for PC, PS4 and PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on March 26th, 2021. We'll bring you more on Yuji Naka's newest creation as soon as we get it.
