Devolver Digital has announced Blightbound, which is a cooperative sidescrolling dungeon crawler from Awesomenauts developer Ronimo Games.
In Blightbound, players will encounter a world that is in peril. Decades prior, a group of heroes managed to slay the Shadow Titan, but the celebrations were cut short when his broken body created the Blight, a fog that alters any living creature that is exposed to it.
A multiplayer dungeon crawler with up to three people, players will explore handcrafted dungeons as they venture down from their mountain refuge to face the abominations of the Blight. While doing so they will fight many mystical and monstrous foes, while finding hundreds of unique items to loot and recovering 20 available fallen heroes to expand the player's roster of available warriors.
The roster of warriors can either be a warrior, assassin, or mage. The warrior will be able to block damage, the rogue will be able to interrupt enemies, and the mage will be able to heal their allies. The warriors will also have their own skill sets, passive abilities, and fully narrated stories to complete.
There will be three distinct lands for players to explore, which include the eerie Gravemark, the precarious Blood Ridge, and the oppressive Underhold. While doing so, they will be defeating bosses and solve puzzles to progress through the game.
Players will also be able to build their refuge/base from atop the mountain by finding new artisans to craft new items, fulfil bounties, and train your heroes.
Blightbound is coming to Steam Early Access in Summer 2020.
