During today's State of Play Sony announced that the Civilization VI PlayStation 4 is coming, as the first entry in the Civilization series on the console.
The trailer showed off the gameplay we've come to expect from the series, complete with combat and diplomacy. It does appear that everything from the PC version of the game will be here. In addition to this, 2K community and social media manager Dave Hinkle took to the PlayStation Blog to talk about the game a little more. While there he said that the game's controls and UI have both been optimized to work with a controller. He claimed it was the studio's goal was to make a controller experience that gave the player total control, and he claims that Civilization VI will provide exactly that. He also said the game will allow up to four players to play it online. If you've never played Civilization before, then he also gives some tips for the new players.
In addition to the base game, both the Rise and Fall and Gathering Storm expansions will also be coming to the PlayStation 4 in a separate bundle. Rise and Fall sees you able to trigger specific ages in your civilization by earning the loyalty of people or starting rebellions by losing it. Gathering Storm is more based on nature by adding in natural disasters and climate change, a world congress so you can interact with the other leader's directly. The PlayStation 4 version will also come with a free bonus in the form of the Nubia + Khmer and Indonesia civilizations and scenarios.
Civilization VI and its expansion bundle will be available on PlayStation 4 on November 22nd.
