Cities: Skylines - Natural Disasters, the next DLC for the popular city-building game, launches on November 29, 2016 according to a press release.

Natural disasters is a feature that exist in several other city-building franchises, most notably SimCityCities: Skylines didn't launch with such a feature, and the Cities: Skylines - Natural Disasters DLC will finally bring them to the game. Players will have to invest in early warning systems and disaster-response teams to counteract the new hazards. Among the forthcoming natural disasters are earthquakes, forest fires, meteor strikes, tornadoes, tsunamis, and more. In the most dire of situations, citizens will have to evacuate an area.

The expansion will include five pre-made scenarios for players who want to quickly experience the new features in a challenging way. The scenarios will feature custom game objectives such starting cities, win/lose conditions, timers, and more. Perhaps most importantly, the more devilish players will be able to deliberately unleash natural disasters upon their city on a whim if they choose to do so.

A scenario editor is being introduced for all players as a free update regardless of whether or not they purchase the DLC. The scenario editor was detailed in a previous dev diary. It will operate on a simple trigger-based system; for example, you could trigger a specific natural disaster when the city reaches a certain population.

A developer diary from Colossal Order accompanied the announcement:

This is the third major DLC release for the game following Cities: Skylines - After Dark and Cities: Skylines - Snowfall. The DLC will be available on Steam on November 29 for $14.99/£10.99/€14,99. If you don't yet own the game, the game and its DLC are currently on sale at several places including Amazon [Affiliate Link] and Steam.
