Wargroove is an excellent game - I reviewed it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Chucklefish is continuing to support this great title post-launch, and tomorrow they will release some major quality of life changes with patch 1.2.0.

This patch will be available on PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch tomorrow at 8 a.m. Eastern time. Below are some of the major changes coming, but you can find the full blog post on Wargroove's website.

One big change to the game is setting checkpoints during campaign missions. You will be able to save at any time during the mission and load it up. The catch is that you can only have one checkpoint at a time. This sounds similar to Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon. There are specific spots on maps where you can save and load up if you fail. For especially long maps, this was helpful. In Wargroove, there won't be a title you can save at but rather you can do it anywhere.

Chucklefish are also changing up the difficulty. There are now five different options. This should allow players of various skill levels to either beat the game or have a better time gaining stars, which are needed to unlock art in the gallery and post-game content. Medium difficulty is easier than Hard (obviously) but you can still gain 3 stars from missions. Easy mode lets you gain up to 2 stars, so on and so forth, although Hard is the only mode you can get S rank and is the original difficulty.

The effectiveness chart will be much easier to read now. When you select a unit you can see small images of what units they are effective against and vulnerable too. Previously, it was difficult to read these as they would show sprites of a unit's head, but sometimes it would still be hard to distinguish. Now each unit has a unique icon on this screen. Mousing over each icon shows another easy-to-read graphic.

One last improvement worth noting, among others, is the ability to toggle movement speed animations. This is something I always use on Fire Emblem games and it is a welcome inclusion. Other improvements include multiplayer fixes, Fog of War changes, and smaller tweaks.

Chucklefish plans to continually support Wargroove will release DLC and more at some point and in the future, so stay tuned.
