The third adventure in the We Were Here series has a release date. We Were Here Together launches for PC via Steam on October 10th.

If you've never played any of these games, they're essentially co-op exclusive puzzlers. You and another player must work together to solve various challenges and escape an abandoned castle. In the original game, player one was confined to a small room while player two roamed the castle. Sequel We Were Here Too brought more of the same, and we loved itWe Were Here Together looks like it's going to continue along the same lines, although there is plenty of new stuff to enjoy. Developer Total Mayhem Games is promising all-new puzzles, more hours of gameplay than the original We Were Here, and more background lore to discover. For the first time, you'll be able to roam outside Castle Rock and discover the frigid wasteland surrounding it. The castle itself will also contain all-new areas, and We Were Here Together will give you and your co-op buddy new equipment besides the classic walkie-talkie. Total Mayhem says it'll release more on the game as we near release, so watch this space.

If you're a console gamer and you want in on this series, we have some good news. We Were Here and its sequel are coming to Xbox One (no word on a PS4 release, sadly). You'll be able to grab the first game on Microsoft's console starting from September 16th. It'll be free to Xbox Live Gold subscribers until October 15th. Total Mayhem says We Were Here Too will launch soon after that. The official We Were Here Together Steam announcement could imply a potential launch for the new game on Xbox One too. Total Mayhem wants to "first get it on PC", so there won't be much news until after launch, it seems.

We Were Here Together will hit PC on October 10th. You can wishlist the game on Steam right now. It's worth noting that if you do want to play it, you and a friend will both need working PC mics and an active internet connection.
