Have you ever thought, "Man, I sure would like to play a noir detective story visual novel, but with all of the people's heads replace with those of animals?" No? Yeah, that'd be crazy, but the fine folks at The Wild Gentlemen and Handy Games went ahead and made Chicken Police anyway.
Check out the Chicken Police Announcement Trailer for proof that I'm not hallucinating:
So yes, this is truly a classic noir story where they've replaced all the people's heads with animals.
You, of course, will be playing as the titular chicken police. Working together with your partner, you'll be doing your best to uncover a strange mystery in the strange town of Clawville.
What is Chicken Police All About, Anyway?
A long time ago, Sonny Featherland and Marty MacChicken were partners. These two detectives were nicknamed the Chicken Police, but it's been nearly ten years since they've worked together. Now, they've reunited to work a brand new case that will reveal the dark secrets in Sonny's past.
Unsurprisingly, this is a story-heavy game. (It is a visual novel, after all.) Basically, you'll be playing through a classic noir detective story, except you've taken a lot of drugs and everyone looks like those strange animal-human hybrids the Illuminati are trying to create in their secret lab under the Federal Reserve.
Players will encounter more than 30 distinct characters across just as many in-game locations. You'll have to make use of the game's interrogation system to get the information you want, and you have every reason to poke around — there's plenty of reason to backtrack and explore new content that might not have been there the first time around, nevermind all of the secrets.
No release date for Chicken Police has been announced just yet, but for now, you can add it to your wishlist on Steam.
