It's been a year since Chernobylite's launch, and with its first year celebration comes a Chernobylite free DLC, a 30% discount on the game and previously released DLC, and a limited edition Black Stalker plushie. So far, there's been a lot that's come to the game in the past year: a new mode, new DLC, and plenty of updates that have continued to add to the game. There's a lot to go over, so let's do that, shall we?
What can I expect from Chernobylite's free DLC?
The new Chernobylite free DLC is a digital narrative called Chernobylite Short Story: The Arrival. It tells the story of Sashko Horobets, who is one of Igor's companions. Players will find out why he arrived in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone and if he will find the answers he's looking for. Note that you will need the base Chernobylite game to play the DLC, but that it's free if you do own the game. Here's the accompanying blurb:
“Sashko was after someone – someone who was on the run, someone he desperately needed to have a word with. And this person was here, in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. "Why this radioactive hellhole, of all fucking places” – he wondered – "Why not Caracas or Mexico City?” On top of that, this place had attracted corporate vultures with enough cash to hire an army of mercs and lock down the entire area. NAR, that’s what they were called. Rumors say that strange things are happening in the Zone. That this place has changed and it’s even more dangerous than before...”

Aside from the DLC, if you're interested in owning something physical there's currently a crowdfunding campaign that ends on August 26th for Black Stalker plushies. They'll ring you $27.99 for the plushie and $31.99 for the plushie and production design. There's only a limited amount available, so keep that in mind if you're interested. Right now, though, it's currently at 20% funded, so be sure to throw some money down if you want to own a Black Stalker plushie. If the campaign goes through, they'll ship out on November 12, 2022.
