Coming off the heels of its reveal of Catherine: Full Body earlier this week, Atlus confirmed the remaster will be coming to the West. The reveal also comes with a new English-language website and promotional video. While the website is entirely barren for now, the trailer does show off new character Rin, voiced by Aya Hirano. Rin is described as "a new love interest...with distinct storyline elements for the character." Fans of the original Catherine might take issue with how Rin plays with the dynamic between Katherine and Catherine, but as Catherine is about navigating adult relationships, Atlus will almost certainly present Rin tastefully, whatever secret it is she has. Atlus USA had no further information on a release date, but in the trailer below, we are given a "Winter 2018" release window for Catherine: Full Body, albeit that being on Atlus' Japanese Youtube.
With the arrival of the new teaser, speculation is already spinning up as to what Rin's true identity might be. In case you missed our earlier news story, Rin is the pianist at Vincent's favorite bar. How she comes into close contact with Vincent remains to be seen, but clearly plays an important role in Catherine: Fully Body. The original Weekly Famitsu article hinted at Rin's mentorship role for Vincent's nightmares. Depending on how much Rin knows of the alternate, block-pushing sheep-infested dream world, she could very well be a powerful ally.
There was a brief moment where it looked like Catherine: Full Body might be coming to the Switch. Siliconera noticed that the footer of Atlus's press release contained the Nintendo Switch copyright. Unfortunately, this hope was short-lived, as Atlus USA/Sega PR Manager Jacob Nahin quashed the rumor on Twitter, saying that it was a copy/paste HTML mistake. Considering Nintendo did allow Doom to be released on the Switch, Catherine: Full Body is not out of the question down the line, even if there have been no hints for a Switch release. In the meantime, PS4 and PS Vita owners in Japan have Catherine: Full Body to look forward to sometime next winter.
