Call of the Sea

Developer Out of the Blue and publisher Raw Fury has announced that their title Call of the Sea will be launching on December 8 on all platforms. It is an adventure puzzle title that will release on the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, GOG.com, and the Microsoft Store. It will also be made available on the Xbox Game Pass for console and PC.

Call of the Sea is set in 1934 in the far reaches of the South Pacific. As Norah, the player has crossed the ocean in search of her missing husband's expedition. She then finds herself in a lush island paradise that is a "nameless, forgotten place, dotted with remnants of a lost civilization".

The game is built with Unreal Engine 4, and it looks like it too, judging by the trailer. The main character is voiced by Cissy Jones, who has been heard in Firewatch (Delilah) and The Walking Dead: Season 1 (Katjaa/Jolene/Brie) among other performances. The player will have to investigate clues that have been left by the previous voyage, piece together what has happened to the people that were previously there, and then solve "a variety of clever puzzles" in order to put together the full story.

If you're ready to follow the Call of the Sea, you can preorder it right now on the Xbox Series X and PC for $17.99 (which is 10% off it's 19.99 full price). There will also be a stream later today at 12 PM EST from the Steam Store Page and Twitch, where 30 minutes of PC gameplay will be shown off. If you like what you see, you can follow the publisher on Discord and on Twitter.
