The upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare supply drops — boxes randomly filled with primarily cosmetic items — are said to be including weapons among their possible loot according to a leaker.

Supply drops were present in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. According to an Activision Support page, they could have the following items in them:

  • Calling Cards
  • Reticles
  • Emblems
  • Weapon Camos
  • Combat Uniforms
  • Characters
As you can see, there were no cosmetics whatsoever in these loot boxes. However, a leaker says that that is going to be changing with the launch of the newest game in the franchise.

What the Modern Warfare Supply Drops Weapons Leak Says

As reported by Dexerto, YouTuber TheGamingRevolution claims that the Supply Drops in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare are going to have more than just cosmetics.

"Who wants 300+ emotes in supply drops, who wants 500+ titles, who wants over 200 sprays in supply drops," he said on Twitter. "Weapons are coming too, forget any cosmetic only malarkey."

"They're literally changing so much," he continued. "They had A FAIR SYSTEM WITH SALVAGE and then they just remove it. I hope something changes by release, I swear. This is such a disservice to the developers who have worked so hard on the game. Not everyone wants all of this."

As TheGamingRevolution notes on his Twitter, he has had a good record of getting leaks correct in the past. However, he has provided no verifiable evidence for his claims that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare supply drops will have weapons in them instead of just cosmetics.

As always, you should take leaks like this with a grain of salt. We'll know whether or not he's right for certain when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare launchs on October 25, 2019.
