Today Activision released a new trailer focusing on the upcoming Season 03 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.

The trailer brings back two characters that debuted in the latest game, Alejandro Vargas and Valeria Garza, teasing the fact that they will settle their rivalry once and for all with the new season, which will launch on April 12.

Of course, this also means that they'll become available as operators in Warzone 2.0.

If you're not familiar with them, Alejandro Vargas is a Tier One operator from the Mexican Special Forces and the leader of Los Vaqueros. Valeria Garza is one of the antagonists of the game and she used to serve alongside Alejandro. She did mention she'd be back, and apparently, that's exactly what's going to happen.

You can watch the trailer below.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is currently available for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Warzone 2.0 is its free-to-play battle royale spin-off and it's available for the same platforms.

At the moment, the future of the Call of Duty series is interesting, but not set in stone. We already know that a new premium game is releasing this year, but the pending acquisition of Activision Blizzard makes further developments unpredictable, especially considering that Microsoft has been striking deals with companies like Nintendo and Nvidia to get the franchise on the Switch and on Geforce Now.

This means that the franchise could reach whole groups of new users with its future iterations, but this requires the acquisition to go through. Microsoft and Activision expect to close it by June 30, but regulators have been dragging their feet instigated by rival Sony, which appears to be intent on blocking the acquisition at all costs, having refused agreements similar to the one offered to Nintendo.
