The ESRB rating for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out and it's revealed a fair few new details about this upcoming first-person shooter. Notably, it seems that there will be some Modern Warfare dialogue options in the game, one of which will determine the fate of a person in a tricky situation.

Modern Warfare Dialogue Options Have Life or Death Decisions

The Entertainment Software Rating Board has released their information on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Aside from a rather unsurprising rating of M for Mature, the Rating Summary also details some of the events we can expect to see and what could turn out to be a significant new feature: dialogue options.

Here is the relevant passage from the ESRB Rating Summary of the game:

Some sequences prompt players to make choices that influence enemy behavior: using a pistol to threaten a suspect's family during an interrogation; timing actions to prevent terrorists from shooting hostages (failure scenarios may occur). One sequence depicts players' character interrogated/tortured via waterboarding; if players select certain dialogue options, then a bound prisoner is seen executed.
The ESRB Rating Summary only lists the above examples on the topic of Modern Warfare dialogue options, but that's not to say that these will be the only examples.

Recently. a loot box system for this upcoming game was discovered in the beta. The possibility of microtransactions in this title has led several people to cancel their pre-orders, especially in light of how Black Ops 4 was monetized.

What's most interesting is exactly how these choices are going to affect gameplay; will players be able to heavily influence the course of the game, or will these simply be restricted to smaller-scale choices like, say, whether or not an NPC would be available to help you in a firefight later on in the level? We can't say for sure, but it seems like the developers have added yet another new twist to the classic CoD formula.

What do you think of the prospect of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare dialogue options? Do you think they'll have a significant effect on the game? Let us know in the comments below!
