Cadence of Hyrule DLC Octavo's Ode

Nintendo and Brace Yourself Games have a rather nice surprise for fans looking to shake their tail on Christmas: a Cadence of Hyrule DLC called Octavo's Ode has surprise launched and is available to play right now!

"Discover Octavo's true intentions for taking over Hyrule in 'Octavo's Ode', a new storyline that's available now via a free software update for #CadenceofHyrule!" read a tweet on the official Nintendo UK Twitter account.

If you're unfamiliar with Cadence of Hyrule, it's a game where you use the power of dance to fight monsters in Hyrule with Link, Zelda, and a few other characters. No, really, that's the basis of the game. It's more or less a spinoff of Crypt of the Necrodancer, a game that first popularized the whole "dance to defeat monsters" kind of gameplay.

Now, a brand-new piece of Cadence of Hyrule DLC is available — and it won't cost players a penny. Oh, and you can totally pet the dog now.

What's in the Cadence of Hyrule DLC?

Originally, Cadence of Hyrule featured four playable characters. Now a fifth is joining the ranks as reported by Eurogamer.

The game's villain Octavo is a new playable character for the associated Octavo's Ode storyline which shows exactly why he tried to take over Hyrule. He'll be able to attack enemies with his Golden Lute.

That's not all that's coming to the game with this neat piece of free DLC, mind! A new "Dungeon Mode" is also being added that's said to be particularly challenging, featuring some of the toughest enemies in the game all in one place. If you think you've mastered Cadence of Hyrule, you now have a new challenge ahead of you.

You can get this new DLC for Cadence of Hyrule right now. If you don't yet already own the game, you can grab it on the Nintendo eShop on sale for $17.49 or your regional equivalent, a 30% discount off of its normal price of $24.99.

What do you think of Octavo's Ode and the new Dungeon Mode arriving in Cadence of Hyrule? Do you hope to see more games of this type released? Let us know in the comments below!
