Today Bushiroad hosted its New Year Presentation 2023 and announced a new label simply named Bushiroad Games, which will debut with multiple games inspired by anime, on top of another treat for Rune Factory fans.
The new label will focus on console and PC games and its first title was already revealed a few days ago, Goblin Slayer: Another Adventurer- Nightmare Feast for PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch, inspired by the Goblin Slayer light novel and anime. When it was previously revealed, we did not know the publisher, but now we do.
As we already knew, it'll focus on a completely original story and today we learn that it'll be developed by Apollosoft (which worked on Queen's Blade: White Triangle, Langrisser I & II, Destiny Connect, and more) and Mebius. It'll be directed by Apollosoft's Koichi Kawase.
The second game is Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation - Quest of Memories, coming "soon" for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, based on the popular isekai anime and light novel. No further information was revealed about this one.
The third title goes deeper into the anime timeline, and it's Macross: Shooting Insight, coming in 2023 for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. All we know about this one is that it'll be a scrolling shoot 'em up, as the title suggests.
A fourth game was announced by Bushiroad outside of the new label, but it's no less relevant. The title is "RearSekai" and it's an original action JRPG by Rune Factory 5 developer Hakama with historical Rune Factory and Story of Seasons producer Yoshifumi Hashimoto at the helm. This one will come in 2023 and has been announced only for Nintendo Switch.
Quite interestingly, the score is penned by Motoi Sakuraba, composer of many popular games including the Star Ocean, Tales, Valkyrie Profile, and Dark Souls series. The character design is handled by Minako Iwasaki of Rune Factory and Ys fame, and Shie Nanahara, who worked on Samurai Warriors 5.
At the moment, we already know that Goblin Slayer: Another Adventurer- Nightmare Feast will be localized in English. On top of that, when Bigwest announced the deal with Harmony Gold that finally unlocked the release of the Macross series in the west, they mentioned the intention to bring over its games as well.
If you're not familiar with Bushiroad, the massive Japanese entertainment company is known mostly for its multimedia franchises featuring anime and mobile games like BanG Dream! Girls Band Party! and D4DJ and its collectible card games like Weiß Schwarz and Cardfight!! Vanguard.
