Drake Hollow has suddenly and surprisingly launched on Xbox One, letting you and your friends band together to protect adorable vegetable folk from deadly feral beasts.

In Drake Hollow, you and your friends get to hang out in the Hollow. The Hollow is home to the Drakes, a species of vegetable creatures that are can quite literally die from boredom. It's up to you to entertain them, but that's not all you'll have to do — there are deadly beasts in the woods that would be all too happy to eat them up.

Drake Hollow is the newest game from The Molasses Flood, the same people who brought you The Flame in the Flood. Players can romp around in a procedurally-generated world, building a village for the Drakes and generally having fun. You'll need materials to build the village, of course, and that's where you and your buddies will head out into the wilderness to explore and acquire resources.

This game was originally intended to simultaneously launch on Xbox Game Pass and Steam on July 17, 2020. Unfortunately, the developers weren't quite able to make that date. While this brand-new game is available for Xbox One gamers right now, PC gamers are going to have to wait a little while.

When is the Drake Hollow Steam Release Date?

Unfortunately, it looks like the Drake Hollow Steam version is going to be delayed a bit, as is the PC version delivered via Xbox Game Pass.

"Waiting on the PC version?" The Molasses Flood said in a tweet. "We're doing final PC testing, and expect to be launching within the next few weeks. We will be launching on PC Game Pass and Steam."

For now, console gamers can buy Drake Hollow on Xbox One for $29.99 or your regional equivalent. You can also get access to the game at no additional cost with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership. Alternatively, you can add Drake Hollow to your wishlist on Steam.
