We're just a few days away from the Pokemon Go Halloween event, but the game's latest addition, Zorua, has run into some trouble. The Pokemon Go Zorua surprise encounter has been removed from the game early due to a bug with its stats, and Niantic has taken to Twitter to explain what's going on.

Surprise encounters and community days are the focal point of Pokemon Go, where players bear witness to a new Pokemon to add to their Pokedex for a limited time. This morning, the latest addition, Zorua, was removed from Pokemon Go's newest event due to a glitch in the matrix. Niantic has taken to Twitter to explain this bug, and how it affects those who have already gotten their hands on the mischievous Dark-type Pokemon, stating as follows.

Zorua already caught by Trainers will not be able to be traded, sent to Pokémon Home, or allowed in GO Battle League until this issue is resolved. Please stay tuned for further details. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.

What this means is that those who caught Zorua before its removal will have their benefits with their new buddy heavily reduced. Why is this happening? Well, the aforementioned bug caused Zorua to keep the stats of the Pokemon it took the form of, rather than going back to its normal state once caught.

This bug means that the player's new buddy would have incorrect stats that made the Pokemon either more or less powerful than Niantic had planned. One player received an extremely jacked version of Zorua, weighing in at almost 750kg. Until the issue is resolved, and the company has yet to provide a timeframe, Zorua has been removed (unless you already caught it, of course).

The Shuppet Spotlight Hour will still continue as planned, just without Zorua. Those who were lucky enough to snag themselves a rare spawn have learned that not only can they not battle with it, but they will not be able to add Zorua to their Pokemon Home or trade it until this bug has been fixed.
