Bubsy the Bobcat is back! Again! In case you were blissfully ignorant of the return of the pariah of the mascot set's latest adventure, I'll quote Sam from our 2/10 review of Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back.
Despite returning in a game that scored a 42 average on OpenCritic, Bubsy is somehow getting a second chance at rebirth. Helmed by Choice Provisions (the Bit.Trip people), Bubsy: Paws on Fire looks to bring the bobcat in his friends to a world of Runner-inspired gameplay.
When Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back is at its best, the words I would use to describe it include "soulless", "mediocre", and "annoying". Somehow the game is rarely at its best, leading to a total disaster.
Of course, Bubsy isn't coming back alone. You see, Bubsy: Paws on Fire digs deep into the Bubsy lore with playable versions of all of Bubsy's pals. You can also meet memorable characters like Oinker, Terri, Terry, Vergil Reality again or for the first time! It's a reunion that could only happen because there's a new Bubsy game in 2019 and the world makes no sense.
Explore 100 different levels in three different worlds! Dig underground as an armadillo named Arnold! Play as one of the villainous Woolies! Look in the mirror and consider your life choices! All is possible with Bubsy: Paws on Fire! You can be sure to look out for this brand new game in the Bubsy franchise in 2019 on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
If you want to know more about Bubsy to prepare your mind for the upcoming storm of nonsense, be sure to read our lengthy history of the character. It was written in a time when the world made sense and there weren't new Bubsy games.
The author of this article bought Bubsy: The Woolies Strike Back at full price on release day. He is partially to blame for the world we all now live in. He's very sorry.
What do you think about Bubsy being in yet another video game? Is it possible that this one will actually be good? Are these games bad on purpose? Answer below while you're still sane in the comments below!
