Feline auto-runner Bubsy: Paws On Fire is on track for a May 16th launch on Steam and PS4. The game will also be coming to Nintendo Switch but this version has been delayed until summer.
Developer Choice Provisions says the Switch version is "in great shape" but that the studio needs to make some final adjustments. Bubsy: Paws On Fire will also be available as a physical collector's edition for PS4 and Switch. The game will come complete with a CD sampler of the soundtrack and a Players' Guide. Interested parties can pre-order the Switch and PS4 collectors' versions right now if they so desire. If you're not on board the Bubsy auto-runner train yet, check out the teaser trailer below:
Bubsy: Paws On Fire is the latest entry in the long-running Bubsy series. Past installments in this franchise have received somewhat mixed reviews, but there's hope for this one. Development is being handled by Bit.Trip developers Choice Provisions, who have some experience in the auto-runner genre. Paws On Fire promises over 140 levels and 4 playable characters, each with unique mechanics. The game will also boast boss battles, a shop in which to purchase cosmetics and costumes, and a variety of collectibles to hunt down. Naturally, the game tells an all-new story featuring Bubsy and his dubiously lovable pals.
The latest Bubsy game was originally announced back in October last year. It's been delayed twice: first until April, then again until May. The PS4 and PC versions are finally on track for a release, but Bubsy fans with Switch consoles will have to wait just a little longer. Bubsy: Paws On Fire will launch for PS4 and PC via Steam on May 16th. In the meantime, you can remind yourself what we thought of the last Bubsy outing if you are wondering what could pawsibly go wrong.
