Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon has reached over 100,000 sales a week after its release.

Developer Inti Creates announced the milestone on Twitter, with some celebratory artwork from character designer Yuji Natsume.

Init Crates also broke down the demographics for where the game was downloaded, and for what system. According to their charts, the Nintendo Switch version has received the bulk of the sales at a massive 54% (meaning over 54 000 on that platform alone). The Steam and PlayStation 4 versions make up 19% and 17% respectively, while the handheld versions for the 3DS and PS Vita amount for 4% each.

It should be noted that the Xbox One version only launched yesterday, explaining their absence on the chart. European 3DS sales are also not present for the 3DS numbers here.

North America accounts for 64% of the sales as well, with Japan and Asia coming in at 23% and Europe and Australia at 13%.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon is an 8-bit action-platformer modeled in the same vein as the Castlevania series. The game is a retro-styled companion game and stretch goal to the upcoming Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the long-developed Kickstarter project that was launched by developers ArtPlay and DICO. Spearheaded by former Konami producer Koji Igarashi, one of the creators of the Castlevania series, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is meant to be a spiritual successor to the Castlevania series, specifically based on Sympathy of the Night. Curse of the Moon takes more inspiration from Castlevania 3 and harkens back to the 8bit action Castlevania's.

The Kickstarter, launched in 2015, would receive over $5 million in funding, making it one of the most funded game titles on the platform. The game has gone through several phases of development and is finally scheduled for launch this year with publisher 505 Games for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and the PC.
