When you think about it, Berserk and Diablo go together like peanut butter and jelly. Both are dark fantasies with a lasting legacy, and both feature tons of fearsome demons and other monsters. It was only a matter of time, and now, the critically-acclaimed manga is collaborating with both Diablo IV and Diablo Immortal.
New skins and events featuring Berserk by the late Kentaro Miura are coming to Diablo IV and Immortal. Whether you're a fan of the mainline Diablo IV or more into the mobile aspects of Immortal, you'll be able to partake in different experiences with Berserk flavoring.
What's Coming to Diablo Immortal for the Berserk Collaboration?
First up is Diablo Immortal, the ongoing free-to-play mobile title that originally launched in 2022. Perhaps the most exciting aspect of Diablo Immortal's Berserk collaboration is a fight with Nosferatu Zodd. This fight is exclusive to the mobile title.
Zodd is a notable villain from Berserk -- he's a fearsome and hulking monstrosity Guts encounters throughout his harrowing journey. It should be quite exciting to see one of Berserk's most iconic characters in action. For an even greater challenge, players can fight a souped-up Zodd with the Crimson Behelit Legendary Gem.
Players can also fight within the Eclipse itself during an event called "Struggler's Bane." Now, the Eclipse is perhaps Berserk's most iconic scenes, so Blizzard appears to be going all in on fan service. According to the Diablo Immortal blog post, you can fight with the Band of the Hawk (Guts and Griffith's mercenary group) and fight a boss whose goal is to "execute the Godhand’s bidding."
Other features include cosmetics. One is for your familiars, which can don the look of golems. Fans may remember golems as the guardians of the witch Flora's house. The collaboration wouldn't be complete with skins for your characters, including Guts' signature Berserker armor and Griffith's post-Eclipse look.
What's Coming to Diablo IV for the Berserk Collaboration?
The Berserk event for Diablo IV is more cosmetic-focused. Players can slay certain enemies and gain Behelits -- an iconic stone found throughout the manga series. Exchange these Behelits for cosmetics like the Mark of Sacrifice, which can be donned on your character.
This event follows the same formula as others in the past for Diablo IV, so farming enemies is the name of the game, here. There's also armor available in the premium shop for Diablo IV, including, you guessed it, the Berserker Armor for the Barbarian, but also several others, like The Skull Knight's outfit for the Necromancer.
But if I'm being honest, I'm most exciting about the Schnoz pet. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look up Schnoz from Berserk and you'll see why this little fella' became a meme for Berserk fans. Having him follow you around? Bold move by Blizzard, but I applaud it for the memes, if anything else.
When Do the Diablo x Berserk Collabs Drop?
Note that these start and end at different times. For Diablo Immortal, the collaboration starts on May 1, 2025 and lasts until May 30, 2025.
Diablo IV's Berserk collaboration begins a week after the start of the new season on April 29th, so it'll run from May 6, 2025 up until June 3rd. Berserk-themed bundles will be available in the game's shop from May 6th through June 5th.
Coming from a huge Berserk fan, this is a dream come true. Based on the screenshots and information available, Blizzard is firing all cylinders in order to live up to fan expectations. It's hard to deny the late Kentaro Miura's impact on gaming as a whole, and with this upcoming collaboration, we can add Diablo to the list.
