Blightbound, the co-operative dungeon crawler from developer Ronimo Games and publisher Devolver Digital, will be coming to Steam's Early Access on July 29.
On the main website there is an excellent one sentence explanation as to what the game is about. I'm going to use it:
Blightbound is a multiplayer dungeon crawler that tasks three heroes to venture down from their mountain refuge to face the abominations of the Blight - a mysterious and corrupting fog that enshrouds the land.
Seems straightforward enough, right? Blightbound is a local and online multiplayer dungeon crawler that looks to play in the vein of Castle Crashers, which is definitely something that I can get into. Sometimes you just want to kick back, relax, and kill some monsters. Nothing wrong with that, unless you're a monster, of course.
The game will launch at a 10 percent discount, which means that it'll cost you around $19.99 buckaroos. What that'll get you exactly is somewhat up in the air. What I mean by this is that players will be able to collect 20 unique heroes, find and craft hundreds of unique items, and fight through three specific lands/zones, which include the Gravemark, Underhold, and Blood Ridge. It sounds great, but how much of that will be available upon the game's Early Access release? Who knows, considering right now on the Steam page the Early Access blurb is empty.
Either way, Blightbound will be available for $19.99 via Steam's Early Access model on July 29.
What do you think of this news? Are you interested in Blightbound? Do you think the Castle Crashers comparison is a good one? Let us know in the comments!
