The latest Black Desert Online expansion, Mountain of Eternal Winter, is coming very soon. In about two months (give or take a few weeks) in April 2022, players will be able to explore the new region, which will be available to both new and existing Black Desert Online players. That means if you're level 1 you can hop right into the new story.
This is a bigger deal than it normally would be for developer and publisher Pearl Abyss, as there's been a 230% increase in Western players during 2021, and a 165 new daily player increase globally. If they nail their next Black Desert Online expansion, then that growth should only continue going forward.
There isn't much else to go over right now, as there's a countdown timer for more information that will end on March 10, 2022. There is a neat little description from the game site, though:
O warrior who shall rise above the six witch trials to stand atop the frosty peaks,
Come to the Haven of Slumbering Origin at the Mountain of Eternal Winter…
That's a cool bit of worldbuilding, eh? We'll have to see what it all means come March 10.
If you're excited for the latest Black Desert Online expansion and want something now, there will be special login rewards from February 24 to April 6 to celebrate the MMORPG's 6th anniversary. The login rewards include buffs that will be active for 20 days ad well as a Treasure Memories Classic Box that players can get on Day 14, or March 10, 2022. The Value Pack (20 days) buff can be acquired on Day 1, so if you're interested be sure to jump on that as soon as it goes live, as there will be 21 login rewards in total as long as players login progressively over the course of 21 days.
