Bioshock The Collection

Nine years after we first crashed into Andrew Ryan's objectivist's paradise of Rapture, we're almost ready to play through it again! Bioshock: The Collection is a bundle containing all the games in the Bioshock franchise, 2 of which have been given a new coat of paint (and some pretty lighting effects) so the horrors of Rapture are once again represented in beautiful HD.

While Bioshock: The Collection will also be coming to current-gen consoles, players on the PC can make use of a special offer that allows them to grab the remastered versions for free, provided you already own the originals on Steam.

The Bioshock community page on Steam details what you have to do to get your hands on the remasters:

If you already own BioShock, BioShock 2, or Minerva’s Den on Steam, the remastered version for the corresponding title will automatically show up in your Steam library as a separate game. You can expect to see the remastered titles begin rolling out in Steam libraries starting at 3pm PT on September 15, 2016 (find out what time that is in your timezone). Once it shows up, you can choose to install the original version or the remastered version.

If you bought the games on disc or on Windows Live and haven't added the games to your Steam library you will have to take some additional steps (more on that here). You can also shoot 2K's customer support staff a message. Go here to find out how to do that.

Lastly, the developers also released the minimum and recommended specs for the collection:

I've been playing games since I was just barely able to walk so I might as well write about them.
